Attic Insulation Rebate Specifications.

Attic insulation must be installed between conditioned (air-conditioned living area below ceiling) and unconditioned areas (attic) to qualify.

The following applies to ALL attic insulation rebates:

  • An itemized and dated purchase receipt or sales invoice (include existing R-Value and ending R-value, insulation type and square feet) must be submitted with application.
  • If existing insulation is less than R-5, one photo showing the entire attic floor and one close-up photo of a ruler that shows the measurement of the depth of the insulation must be submitted with application.
  • Square-footage measurements will be verified against Bexar County property tax records or inspection by a CPS Energy inspector.
  • For attics with more than 24 inches of attic clearance, final insulation must be at least R-38 and existing attic insulation must be no greater than R-14.
  • For attics with less than 24 inches of attic clearance, the final insulation level must be at least R-19 and existing attic insulation for low ceilings must be no greater than R-11.
  • Degradation due to age and density of the existing insulation should be considered.
  • All insulation must be new materials and have R-Value stated on the packaging material.
  • Garages and other non-living areas DO NOT qualify.
  • Gas-heated homes with no air conditioning DO NOT qualify.
  • Rebate amount will not exceed the total cost of the project.

How to Participate

Pool Pump Rebate Specifications.

To qualify, newly installed pool pumps must be ENERGY STAR® certified. Pool pumps for newly constructed pools do not qualify.

Rebate:

$150/horsepower*



*Rebate maximum is $450. Rebate payouts are rounded to the nearest 1/2 horsepower.
The following applies to ALL pool pump rebates:

  • Horsepower rating is based on rated horsepower listed on the ENERGY STAR® website.
  • Motor-only replacement does not qualify for this rebate.
  • Rebuilding an existing pool pump does not qualify for this rebate.
  • Must be a NEW (not used) unit that is listed on the ENERGY STAR website as a variable-speed pool pump and carry a minimum one-year manufacturer warranty.
  • Must be a one-for-one replacement. Installation must be compliant with all local, state, and national codes regarding installation and operation of water heating equipment.
  • Must be programmed to the energy efficiency standards required by ENERGY STAR.
  • Rebate amount will not exceed the total cost of the project.
  • Model and serial number must be listed on the contractor invoice.
